If you was in my situation:

No job
Good GCSE'S
No qualifications
Experience in Flooring and Tiling

A couple of grand in an ISA

Living in a house with my dad, who is a borderline alcoholic and because he doesnt drink every night(but most nights) as soon as he comes home from work he is always stressy, especially considering he works long hours and is ALWAYS moaning at me. Arguing all the time about pointless stuff and he always puts me down.

I pay £40 a week and my dad doesnt get ANY food, I buy all my food, wash my clothes etc (treated like a tenant which I wouldnt mind if he treated me like an adult). But he is just messed up because drink controls him I think. If it wasnt for his passion of motor bikes and always working on them he'd drink every night.

I think my options are;
Go travelling (clear my mind find myself spiritually)
Rent a place (got the money to last a while even without working, but id get a job on agency)
Obviously I need to get a job but atm my dad is just destroying my soul.

So what would you do if you was in my situation?

Fins a job, get a place and then look for better, more enjoyable work whilst earning

That's what I did and it wasn't fun or easy but it worked

Id move out into a place of my own and get a job that will bring in money for rent and food and then sort out what you want to do.The answer doesnt lie on the MT forums and making threads asking about brick-laying,computer courses.Do what you want to do!!!!!

beat him up and make him stop drinking through the beating, much like bandon lee did in "The Cow" when he got hold of Darla.

Everyones answer will be different as we have all had different paths to where we are now, me for instance.

Id work out where i wanted to be i.e. employed, self employed and in which sector.

Id then get a 9-5 anywhere i could to get the money in and night school it, you could study 3-4 GCSE's in 9 months then move up the qualification grade.

Personally id take business and associated subjects and possibly try to start my own flooring business.

Im not in your position so couldn't really comment, but if my dad was still alive I don't think I could turn my back on him and run,

Take Stones advice and try and help your dad.

As for trying to stop my dad drinking, ive said you ought to stop drinking to him before and he went mad at me saying he can do what he wants and basically said I was a worthless piece of sh1t.

Im not joking when I say he's evil, I feel on edge when I know he's coming home.
