I don't know if zinc is really a "supplement" but I've been told it helps reduce body fat especially around the pecs (get rid of those nasty man boobs!)

So what do you all think? Worth it or not?

What foods contain it? Or is it best to use a zinc containing multivitamin?

thanks

Zinc
Zinc is an essential mineral, required for normal growth. It is a constituent of certain enzymes, acts to stabilise cell membranes and is involved in DNA synthesis, protein digestion and synthesis, carbohydrate metabolism, oxygen transport and protection against free radical damage. Zinc deficiency is difficult to characterise but seems to cause reduced growth rates and reduced immune capacity. Good sources of zinc are dark red meats with a low fat content and unrefined (whole) grains. However, its absorption is hindered by phytates in wholegrain cereals and other vegetables. Animal protein enhances zinc absorption.

I wasn't talking about spot reducing fat.

I just heard that zinc helps suppress estradiol levels which causes less fat to be deposited on the chest.

Zinc is difficultly assimilated by the body hence supplementing it is a good thing. It's an anabolic mineral so good for bodybuilders. I have it in my ZMA and god I'm loving this supp, sleep like a baby and do funny dreams

I buy it where I work as it's cheaper obviously and has tribulus in it but I think most places have the traditional ZMA which is Zinc + Magnesium and Vit B6 .. for some reason it makes you sleep deeply hence rest better... a lot on here seem to swear by it and I got to admit it's working great for me ... do a bit of research on google and you'll get your answers.. those 3 nutrients are so important as well
