You shouldn't really need a belt for pulls but, they are worn by some Oly lifters (including World Champions!) when performing the Clean & Jerk mostly for support in the Jerk. Do what feels comfortable to you.

A small, flexable belt could be worn to keep your back warm. The equivalent of a knee sleeve.

if you can do it fine with out a belt. i would not use one.

I've never used a belt for cleans, mind you the weight wasn't very heavy
