pre and post workout, is this even close to right?????? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ok i just want to ask about ONLY my pre and post meals, see what you think or am i being really clueless here! wont go into specifics of ratio etc as that is a massive area and getting to grips with it (ish), but question for you all! i train in the am, family etc, so 6.30. pre trg meal is also breakfast, so shake consisitng of 40g protein (isolate), maxin (simple carbs 60g). training. then simple carbs (maxim again), mixed with 20mg isloate protein. rationale - protein as just woke up - ?? should i be getting slow burning ones in instead????suggestions???? maxim - simple carbs for pure energy after mainly carbs again, simple to spike insulin, isolate for fast acting to get 'straight' into hungry and broken down muscle. what do people thinK??? also i'm waking up, training and getting 2 shakes down me within about under 2 hours, lots of liquid and quite often feel bloated and a bit sick. by the way the protein is myprotein one, about 25g protein so just have 2-3 servings pre, no bcaas, might need any advice here. or maybe go for solid food before???? any help/advice greatly needed. got some progress pics up on profile if that is any idea of how im getting on, i dont think going as well as poss and training imo is pretty good and intense with good rest times etc, so diet is needing sorted, bit by bit!

How long before training is breakfast? Fast carbs pre-WO are not ideal as an insulin spike during training can make it hard going. However, if training is only 1 hour after breakfast, slow carbs probably won't have a chance to significantly top-up muscle glycogen. What are you trying to do? Cut? Maintain? Bulk? Note that training doesn't "break down" muscle, but it does stimulate it to grow when you're resting.
