A_J -> muscle endurance (May 8 2008 12:10:07)

hey guys, if i was to change my training to a muscle endurance type of routine.. for example instead of doing 6 reps per set that i currently do, change it to 12 reps per set..

Is it true that this will add density to my muscles
and better shape ??

buzzer -> RE: muscle endurance (May 8 2008 12:46:53)

no

I agee lol

Firstly I would not conisder merely doing 12 reps as muscular endurance, further doing higher reps will not increase 'muscle density' or 'shape'.

lol seems to me i have been misinformed.

Is there any way i can add density in terms of weight training..?

What do you mean by 'denisty'? However I will harzard a guess that you will achive your goals by getting bigger and having less BF!

its hard to explain myself.. as in a thick look to your muscles is what i want.. Iv read somewhere that you can increase the size of the muscle fibres or the amount of muscle fibres.

Increasing the number of muscle fibres can lead to a thick dense look to your muscles.. e.g. like a 100m sprinter
Increasing the actual size of each muscle fibre just adds size to the muscle.. e.g. bodybuilder

The simple answer to the above is bull. BB look just as 'dense', if not far more so, than sprinters. There is some discussion relating to hypertrohy (increased fibre size) vs hyperplasia (increased fibre number) but it does not relate to what you are describing.

Don't worry about it (not saying you loosing sleep over it mind [:)]).

Thats right.. its the hypertrophy v hyperplasia.. thats what i was tryna get at.

Ok if i was to go ahead and change my routine to 12 reps for about 4weeks. it would still benifit my muscle building goals right..

Sure depenent everything else is in order.

A_J -> RE: muscle endurance (May 8 2008 16:59:27)

yeah i hope everything else is in order.. im gettin in 250g protein a day from food no supplements.

about 350g carbs a day.. iv just cut them back from 500g.

and about 80-90g fat a day.

The diet was workin well, as in i was puttin on weight.
