Hi People,

I'm looking to start weight training again and was wondering whats the best way to get going. I have a 2 day split program which i can just use again but I dont know much about nutrition.

I was going to buy the usual protien shakes and Creotien (spelling?) Is there anything else I can get?

I'm currently 5"9 and 69kg

edit: also wondered how long it takes to regain lost muscle. I lost about 1.5 inch of my chest and 2 of my arms! :(

Thanks

Hi mate, welcome to MT

Have a look at the diet section of the forum for some advice and tips. You could also post your diet in there and ask for some advice based on that and your goals. For starters, a good diet for training whatever your goal contains plenty of protein and good fats, complex carbohydrates and fibrous vegetables. Creatine is not essential at all to start off with and may be of more use after you've trained a while again to help get over a plateau when you reach one.

I'd also visit the training sections for some pointers on routines or to measure what you do now against what other people are doing.

There are some great articles on diet and training in the articles section of MT

Get your training and diet up to speed first. Make sure you're getting decent protein through chicken, eggs and the like for the first month or two, then once back up to speed, you can think of adding a basic PWO shake / protein drink and some creatine.

First things first, get down to the gym lol
