Shake - 08 May 2008 15:20
Any recommendations for a pre workout shake (taken 30mins before routine) and another taken immediately after.
I generally train before work 7:30am - 9am. Preferably one that can be mixed with milk,

Cheers :)

to answer for him, it contains casein, which is a slow release protein, providing elevated nitrogen levels throughout the workout.
V. good pre workout IMO

Boditronics Express whey

But PreWO shakes are not needed if your diet is up to scratch

But it will be first thing in the morning so it will be a breakfast substitute before training.

So do you recon not to bother with a pre-shake and eat a carb heavy breakfast instead ?
Im a beginner i should point out !!

Time is a factor first thing in the morning so any recommendations of a quick snack that will do the job ?

Look for 60 grams carbs, 30-40g protein 1 hour before training is usually my protocol. Depends on a lot of things though, so have a read!

Ahh I see Silly me..

I do question this though... Slow digesting protein Pre WO.. Surely either BCAA or Full Amino's even good old WPC in water on way to gym would be perfect/better?? With a decent complex carb meal an hour prior??

I must admit to using milk in all my shakes years ago, but found I recovered better and looked leaner without it (still consuming same daily calories).

What do you guys favour then Pre WO?? Except pop a couple of effy
