If you had asked me 7 years ago I'd have called you crazy for even asking ! - Training was my life and eating was simply to fuel training /muscleg rowth / strength - I was oblivious to taste / flavour etc - food was like medicine !!
I never "wanted" to give up , but as others have said , circumstances have led to my priorities changing

Although I really want ro get back to where I was , I am not really bitter , as the "family life" I now have brings me loads of pleasure , and things such as spontaneously taking the wife out for dinner , or having an ice cream with my little boy are worth more to me than benching 200k in a lot of ways

I reckon I'll settle into some nice middle ground eventually , but lately there has been one thing after another (call the excuses if you will ) that prevent me from training properly

All the while I was training properly ,the idea of quitting couldn't have been further from my mind - but these things have a funny way of sneaking up on you !

Yep, all the damn time I think of stopping training because of near enough constant pain...but then I think about how I look when I stop training, and can't let myself become the skinny, shadow of a man.

Had it few times, considered getting into more endurance based stuff.

But given that cardio sessions bore the socks off me i don't see it happening anytime soon
