mainly for people that been doing it for years, have you ever felt like giving training up, because you felt you wasnt gaining.
i nearly did quite a few times, but the good old mother kept me in the game saying i come so far, dont wanna give all the hard work up.

cricket_fire -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 20:59:46)

I've never felt like giving up training (couldn't imagine giving it up), but am increasingly debating just forgetting all about nutrition and allowing myself to become a morbidly obese strong guy

Ak_88 -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:02:27)

Had it few times, considered getting into more endurance based stuff.

But given that cardio sessions bore the socks off me i don't see it happening anytime soon [:D]

drab4 -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:02:53)

Yes I have given up training twice due to various reasons

Raskolnikov -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:03:30)

I have considered it and actually did for a few months last year. It wasn't due to not gaining though; more because of other commitments, plus I felt a little bit burnt out and just wasn't into it as much

Didn't take long to start to miss lifting though

Snorty -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:03:46)

Yeah, after a bad session it really gets me down and I think I might as well stop, but then I sleep and my mood completely alters.

cardio, one big bore, dont do it when on a bulk, just poo

Ak_88 -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:07:25)

Last bulk i did about 3 sessions before i got bored [:D]

If i ever knock weights on the head i'll probably take up something similar to what boar is on at the moment, looks quite fun!

H20 -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:08:39)

I don`t think I`ve ever given up as such more just took breaks, I`ve pretty much been like this for the past 25 years, only just started training again seriously since January having took a couple of years out, just depends how busy I am on other things but I don`t think I could ever just call it a day and walk away.

Furyan -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:10:02)

Yes, i was getting so tired of the 7 meals a day, always being knackered due to training etc. It was a time when life in general seemed to be getting to hectic, lasted about two months, in which i only worked out twice a week. Once other commitments died down, i was straight back at it again, havent looked back since. This is one of the main reason i give myself a week off once every few months.

DBAM -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:10:43)

Never feel like giving it up but I am not really a strict trainer anyway[:D]

scruffy -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:11:11)

never thought of given up, but had to stop for reasons out of my control.........

i actually think ak_88..sig ..fat pete`s words of wisdom ring true for me.

JohnKerr2 -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:13:28)

Weirdly no. I've never felt like giving training up.

Weird because I've generally got the attention-span of a gnat and give things up at the drop of a hat.

Big D -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:14:41)

one more serious injury and i reckon i'll stop altogether and slowly drift back to my rake like self.

dont think i can handle all the bollox that comes with getting back into a routine, training round injuries, having to use the female weights etc

all i want is 2 years injury free to see where i can really get myself.

tuc biscuit -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 21:32:14)

all the time....have given it up several times too and will probably give it up again some day, reminds me of the lyrics of some song that

Veins -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 22:19:53)

Yes, But kept myself going by saying to myself that all the hard work so far would go to waste also I wouldnt have anything else to do with my time either and would probably get myself into trouble. Im at that stage now funnily enough due to a shoulder injury I just think whats the point I've lost so much strength already and am playing catch up, I still go gym but lifting 50% of what I was doing and dodgeing exercises that cause too much pain... I see myself giving up tbh not permanently but will probably end up taking a little break from it all

dazc -> RE: ever felt like giving training up? (May 8 2008 22:25:35)

have never thought i wanted to give up

though i have wondered if i should quite a few times, often when i see people progressing much faster than me, when they put in less work and effort, and all the injuries that i keep suffereng

but there is a part of me that keeps me going, no matter what the injury, no matter how much pain im in, and driving me to progress no matter how slowly, and i think i will be like this untill the day i die
