skinny matty -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 9:18:40)

yes i train them, and i dont enjoy doing so whatsoever

i would choose to train upper body over legs anyday tthough

Fintan -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 9:42:17)

My legs are far more important to me. Whereas my upper body is only required to do Press-Ups and the occasional weight session, my legs have got to drag my heavy arse on runs, up hills, up stairs, around circuits and every part of day-to-day life! If I had weak legs I'd be nigh on useless!

Big D -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 9:48:40)

yeah just as important to me.

after not being able to squat/leg press for 7 months i realised how much i enjoy doing them.

i train quads with calves one day and then hams with back another day now.

Really enjoy training legs - its always hard work and never easy, and subsequently rewarding. Have had to cut back recently as they were out-growing the rest of me and i was constantly sore with all the other sports i do.

I LOVE training legs, squats are the best exercise in the world, i love doing all the variations.

But I dont particularly worry about my leg development, when looking in the mirror etc most of the time im looking at my upper body for progress, but when i do look at my legs, they def are growing :)

mak -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 10:47:42)

I was training legs and regularly squatting etc but I noticed that my legs grow FAR faster than the rest of my body.

The trouble with that is that I'm rappidly growing out of my suits, jean etc and that's gonna be expensive. SO now I'm cutting it down a bit and focussing more on upper body.

The truth is your upper body gets a lot more focus and viewing (I don't wear shorts).

Ak_88 -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 13:42:32)

I love training legs, but they seem to be very stubborn to grow, especially my calves [:(]

Papa Lazarou -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 13:46:57)

I do, I have a weak back tho (from exercise and I was born with a muscle in my right leg not quite connecting. Easily fixed when I was a nipper mind. Means it causes me back/leg niggles and I hurt myself easier than perhaps I would do without the correction!

You need to hit them harder then mate x 2 PW

Ak_88 -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 13:48:30)

Thats the plan after i'm done cutting - full body split with legs every other session [;)]

Ditto that!

My chest was lagging till I started hitting it twice a week [:D]

mick_the_brick -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 13:55:46)

Yep I'm planning to do the same with my chest..

Everything else is out growing it [:(]

dazc -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 14:01:39)

right at this moment i am focusing more on my legs than anything else, they are lagging due to several injuries over the past few years, and i know that is what will let me down if i dont correct it when i get round to competing

Mick/PL you say hitting stuff twice a week helps bring it on, but i know several guys that have switched to training each bodypart once everytwo weeks and are growing like never before!

Furyan -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 14:04:43)

My legs grow quite easily, genetically they were always quite large. Since i was a young lad, they have been larger than they should have been. Still remember my PE teacher asking me if i did anything to get them that developed lol, memories! I always hated the fact they were like this, up unrtil i started bodybuilding anyway![:)]

mak -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 14:05:21)

I do that with triceps cause they're laggin I hit them twice a week for a little while to shock them.

ChanceUK -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 14:11:02)

My order, from most to least, would be:-

Arms, Chest, Abs, Shoulders, Back, Legs, Neck, glutes

Knighty -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 15:52:26)

Hell yeah!

I do a minimum of 15-20 sets for them [:)]

As others are doing it, my order of importance are:

Shoulders/Traps
Back
Legs
Arms
Neck
Glutes
Chest

Bullmastiff -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 16:04:16)

I train them twice a week - I train every other body part just the once.

I believe legs are important for overall development because they are so large and contain so many muscle fibres.

maccy d -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 16:13:13)

na imnot annoyed weithmyself if i miss a legs training day

OoOGazOoO -> RE: Do you care about legs as much as upper body? (May 9 2008 17:03:00)

I do because after 4 knee operations, my quads on the affected leg have taken an absolute hammering, especially my Vastus Medialis.

Not having enough time between operations to build them back up or to actually train them at all as a result of recovery and rehab for the knee.

Still cannot train quads now, i train hamstrings and calves, but not quads.
