In this warm weather, people seem to have their curtains, blinds, windows and doors open much more. It's an excellent way of getting to know ones neighbours.

I have seen the man next door who is a 'respectable' pharmacist physically push his wife around in an aggresive manner.

I have seen her with a black eye in the past, but this is the first time i've actually seen him in action.

To the left I have a very strange couple who seem to do an unfeasably large amount of laundry for two people.

To my right a father is in hysterics because his daughter has had her belly button pierced, I actually think he's crying.

And in the distance I can hear Maltese Joe setting off pipe bombs in his back garden, but that's nothing new.

Just the Chav family who live across the road to the right, amazing how one family can spoil a nice street.

Just because I own two pairs of binoculars, a Canon XL1s broadcast quality cam, a Fuji s5600 and a telescope, does not mean I stare at the ballerina that lives opposite when she is getting undressed and I resent the implication that I have a stash of miniDV tapes hidden under my bed.

so are you suggesting I go onto a playground to do this? Thats quite a good idea actually, there is a primary school just round the corner from me! Genius!

Thing is you might not realise you're doing it. I don't.

If I'm by the window and something catches my eye/ear it's very easy to get drawn in by it.

We all have a little voyeur in us don't we?

There's no way of seeing into my neighbours house - the angles don't allow for it.

Not that I've tried.

Honesty.

Hiss, spit at Canon's claim of broadcast quality.

I get this too. When I'm in the kitchen cooking I often witness my neighbour pogoing around his kitchen. Usually it's to the sound of some appalling chipmunk-techno abomination, but I have inexplicably heard the William Tell Overture blaring out

I have also noticed the house opposite have yet to master the recycling / household waste wheelie bin conundrum

Now, now young man sunny Jim me lad, 28 Days Later was filmed on the earlier XL1 model.
Granted, you need an adaptor to make use of the 35mm conversion, but still, broadcast...sorta...kinda...if you squint...and hop on one leg.

Bollocks. It's a decent bit of kit and I'm gonna go all hardcore like that Xbox 360 fanboy on here who gets all defensive if you dare slag it off.

Sorry - I went into work mode. I don't know why, it must be this fever I have.

Agreed.

My window in the kitchen and computer room can stare into about 20 different flats (facing inside the building), never once have I taken the time to watch what other people do.

I have better things to do... lol

At least not since the readymix concrete company came round.

fit neighbour, gets dressed in front of her wardrobe

seemingly has a fella as i walked home one eve knocked on the door and was greeted by a guy at the window thumping his hand against it.

i'm always staring out of the window as we have 3 looking out onto the road, not much happening though usually except the upskirts when the cars pull up below us
