Just over a year ago when my nan passed away. That and other stuff that was going on at the time means it's not a period with fond memories for me

The one consolation was that it wouldn't have been painful - the coroner said it would've been like falling asleep

I was round there the day before and she was fine. Her neighbour spoke to her on the phone about 20 minutes before, she said she sounded chirpy and was laughing and joking

Not since childhood really, welled up at a babies funeral but that was about it
Crying feels fake/un-natural to me, looking back on it now probably as my parents didn't allow it... or they would give you something to cry about.
Not hard or cold or anything and I feel sad for people and get a lum in the throat and I find things touching but I just don't have the crying.
Sometimes as someone already said it easily converts to anger.

DrZ -
very sad news, thoughts are with you and yours mate.

I also had an altercation with the coffin at the same funeral, although it didn't look like a coffin to me. An easy mistake to make in my opinion.

DrZ my thoughts are with you fella. Cant begin to imagine what its like.

I live in fear of losing my father everyday since his heart attack, i cried when he went to theatre, and everynow and then it gets to me and i shed a tear.

last time i cried was last week. my gf was pressuring me to talk about what was on my mind when a lot of it came out, then i couldnt cope very well.

it's weird isnt it, i remember a few months ago i had had a shi* day at work, and this happened, then that happened and then i spilt my tea on the floor
this meant i had to bin it as the mouse is still coming in so anything that goes on the floor goes in the bin (i wasnt sure if it was a rat at the time)

i sat there and wanted to cry

i also wanted to cry when i had some dodgy stomach thing about 16 months ago which resulted in me lying on the bathroom floor in a ball with my sister thinking i had a stomach ulcer and my mum thinking i was dying, i had been in pain for three days, and all that day it had been worse, i refused to go home early though and drove the whole 44 mile trip home in agony thinking i was going to pass out
i tried to go to the toilet on numerous occasions but nothing (this probably didnt help)
went to the emergency doctor thingie and was told if it went to one side it was appendicitus, it didnt though and after a bit of rest it went

i dont know what it was but i have had it twice, i waned to cry then as well but thought if i did i would pass out (sort of stop fighting it)

i also nearly cried a few hours after i got slashed with a machete whilst at work, mainly as i realised how badly it could have gone (they went for my throat) and how far i could have got myself in after i ran after two of them (both carrying) with nothing on me at the time

hahaha i think you'd have finished the job apollo
the other guy i was working with took it in the back of his head where the nerves go into the brain, he was lucky, we both was but you look back and after i got another machete (well a chef's knife) slashed at me a few months after i realised it was time to start working in different places

i got a bit upset at christmas when i realised all three of my grandparents are now old and suffering, i didnt cry but it was sort of a mental note that soon i may receive the phone call saying one, or all three have passed away

No I wouldnt do that to you, or anyone else for that matter. I almost had a fight at work today though, but I dont believe in weapons, only man to man the fair way.

well its a long story mate but they were that wired i dont think they knew wtf they was doing, they was only kids and small at that

when you hear of doorlads being threatened with peopel coming back and knifing/shooting them 99% of the time it is bolloc*s, this time was an exception and it messes with your head a bit
especially when the next person threatens it (after the event where they came back)

it took me about 6 months to get confidence back and there is only about 10 people who know what happened (of my family only my dad got told) but i am not afraid to admit that it took about 6 months for me to get confidence back

this was a few years ago, i am sorted now and a bit more wary of working rough doors,
i will note that the same night i cleared the pub out on my own, and i was stood there the next night as well

anyway back to crying

onion, part time doorman yeah,

think of the roughest pubs you can think of and i was working worse

99% of the time my having a laugh, but not turning your back on the people approach worked, what didnt help was not being told why these lads didnt come in the pub, it turned out they had carved someone up
we found this out after the arguement

to be fair we both stoo out ground, if any one of the two of us had lost or nerve (and run) it would of been a different outcome completely, both of us know this even though it was never actually mentioned

its a weird bond when you realise this
