This is a really random posts but I do a lot of driving up and down the M40 for work. I couldn't help noticing that there are literlly hundreds of dead pheasants in the central reservation. Now I could understand that a bird could get clipped by a car , get injured and crawl to the middle and die.... but this isn't one or two it's literally hundreds! Can someone explain this?!

Yes - they are bloody stupid birds! Seriously dumb. It's the same where I live - they are always wandering around in the road and getting hit. Fortunately they taste nice.

I'd imagine a bird getting hit by a car at 70mph would just spalt very quickly, how do so many make it to the middle intact!

One stepped out in front of my car a few weeks back. I tried to veer onto the other carriageway to avoid it but ended up clattering it. Anyone driving behind me would have probably thought I'd purposely driven into it as I was on the opposite side of the road when I hit it, but I was trying not to hit it. It caved in my fog light too.

I hit a duck at 30, it went over my car and was in the road, it was fine tho, i stopped and spent about 30 minutes trying to direct it to the pond next to the road, but it kept running away and quaking, i just left it after that cause it was 1am in the morning and there was houses opposite and i looked like i was trying to capture it to eat it.

That surprises me cause that advert about road safety makes it out that at 40 you'd a kill a person... I'd imagine a duck is far more fragile than a person. quote:

They truly are the most stupid birds in the world. They will run for as long as is physically possible before shifting their fat arses into the air, thus shoots need beaters to encourage them to actually fly.

ORIGINAL: mak pheasants not peasants! Hmm are you sure? The birds I bagged were just under 6 foot. I've got one mounted on the spit roast as we speak.
