you see how people bench press they may bounce the bar off their chest, would you say thats cheating? well in paper it is, but to get that poundage you have to cheat, this one guy told me not to bounce it off my chest because u can really hurt yourself but the way i was doing it, is controlling it down then getting the bounce.

Bouncing it is indeed cheating and silly!!! Will only lead to injury.Lower the weight used and you will
reap better results pressing and lowering in a controlled manner.

there is a big difference between a very quick touch and go and a bounce.

so true, use the momentum and stretch reflex of the muscle, but dont bounce, if you feel the bar start to dig into your chest then you are bouncing and asking for trouble...

You should lower & raise in control and make the muscle that you are training do the work. By bouncing you are taking stress from the chest muscle I know that its only for a split second, but this can prevent 100% gains also can cause injury.
