We've been inundated with bicep boys.
Not sure what's happening at Fitness Last but shed loads have started turning up here and they're driving me bonkers.

3 times a week, it's squeak, squeak, squeak at feverish speed on the cable crossover machine as they hammer out 20 sets each of useless overhead cable contractions at breakneck speed, using momentum to contract and nearly tearing their bicep tendons off the bone as they ease the weight back off.

I can't take it any more.

For sale: one gym full of bicep boys giving it large.

No idea what is going on. We're doing nearly 200 a day now. Last April/May we were averaging about 100.
They all seem to be coming from the "other place".
It's rammed now so I'm hiding in the cupboard under the stairs while the missus gets to put up with the bicep squeak.

Funny you say that - I had to step in on one of them this evening who decided 40 sets of overhead curls was in order. I got him to do two sets with a barbell - slow, squeeze, contract, pause, stretch, then three sets on a machine preacher curl and he yelped and declared himself finished at that point.

Hopefully he will now convey that to the other 30 or so Friday sqeakers going for gold at the mo.

theyre in fitness first too, worse still are the girls that hog the machines while talking on their mobile phones

I had an incident with one of them today, i asked her kindly that i could work in and she said o she was using it while talking on the phone, to which i quickly and rather bluntly said "MOVE!"

Made the mistake of going to my gym at 5pm the other day. OMG. Was like a rat run, hundreds of people. Weights all over the floor. Back to my normal 730/800 now!

We're busy enough to be able to chuck 100 members out but that's not the point. The point is the attitude, the silliness, the treating the gym like it's a playground (jumping from moving treadmill to moving treadmill as an example) and the arrogance that seems to have flooded in with thin lads popping their tops off to train bare-chested to "impress" the ladies, only to be told to read the sign and put their tops back on.

It's just a weird mix at the mo. Even filling in the insurance forms we have on joining is a roll-eyes chore for some of them.

Men training topless is a sure fire way to lose female customers.

I remember telling one big lad to put his top back on last year - he was on a diet and narky and declared "it's a fcukin gym innit?"

Yes, it is, but think of it like a nightclub that doesn;t allow trainers, I said.

Unfortunately, his keto brain couldn't process the comparison and he went home in a confused huff.

Very funny. I'm loving the serenity of AM training. Though there's still some oddities occuring.
