If you think about it - were a bizarre subculture.

We lead a very regimented, and almost compulsive lifestyle in order to obtain something that most 'average joe' would think was laughable, strange, or sick.

We eat specific food sources, at timed intervals.... costing a small fortune.

We subject ourselves to many supplements we feel we 'need'.

We train so hard that we sometimes feel sick, ache for days on end, and put ourselves to risks of injuries.

'Some of us' use AAS and peptides, which subject to belief could risk our physical and mental health.

So why the fcuk do we do it???

Me? I wanted to 'look good' - better than the average Joe. Many years on - I now want to look like a freak. I want people to double check me out, and think WTF!!!!!

I am hooked and honestly think that I could never go back to eating 3 meals a day, with the usual sh1t to go with it, pinching a roll of fat and squeezing a skinny arm, then getting depressed....

What about you?

the same and i sure its the same for most of us

Surely this sums up and answers your own question?

Ultimately it comes down to wanting it more than something else, priorities. Personally, I'm scared of becoming a lazy inactive obese person who feels completely depressed by my body.

Some people call it freakish etc, yet if any man could click their fingers and be big, muscular, ripped etc, would they not choose that over most other looks?

Dont worry, you wont be!

Having seen your brother's deadlift vid on YouTube, it would appear you're going to have some competition in a few years.

Nah!

Anyway that wasn't a valid lift, he dropped it instead of putting it down under control therefore doesn't count.

It's something positive and constructive in my life. I like the feeling... it's not so much a 'buzz' as a better sense of yourself.

I actually enjoy it, even starting to quite like the cardio.

Surely thats the reason why the majority of people train?

It started like most of people or even all, because i wanted to look better, more muscular and an excellent body.

To impress me and yes to impress others as well! Then about 1 year ago it became my salvation and my only real sense of being alive. At this moment am at a new place of trying to sort myself out and understand the point of it all, been off training for almost two weeks due to moving houses and having a tattoo done. Miss training like mad and will come back soon.

Weights don't lie to you, they don't disappoint you or let you down. They let you take your anger on them and they still will be there tomorrow. Why do i do it? Because it is my only real escape from real world and my only way at this moment in time of feeling happy about myself and my life.

looking good = feeling good

and why not train your body to the best that it can be. people laugh because they dont no what else 2 do. another thing if you look at older bodybuilder they look younger than the average joe so it must be doing something benificial health wise.
