If you think about it - were a bizarre subculture. We lead a very regimented, and almost compulsive lifestyle in order to obtain something that most 'average joe' would think was laughable, strange, or sick. We eat specific food sources, at timed intervals.... costing a small fortune. We subject ourselves to many supplements we feel we 'need'. We train so hard that we sometimes feel sick, ache for days on end, and put ourselves to risks of injuries. 'Some of us' use AAS and peptides, which subject to belief could risk our physical and mental health. So why the fcuk do we do it??? Me? I wanted to 'look good' - better than the average Joe. Many years on - I now want to look like a freak. I want people to double check me out, and think WTF!!!!! I am hooked and honestly think that I could never go back to eating 3 meals a day, with the usual sh1t to go with it, pinching a roll of fat and squeezing a skinny arm, then getting depressed.... What about you?

The enjoyment of training gives me more satisfaction than anything i've previously done (hobby wise). It gives me a lot more structure to my life and it has improved tenfold since starting.

I know I am on a path to self improvment (at least in my eyes) That to me is enough

I do it cause I want to be a multiple Scotlands Strongest Man winner, win Britians and go to WSM. It helps that I have 20 years to do all these though!

Reading the OP made me realise that I'm not really committed to the 'extras' that come with training such as diet and what not, I do however LOVE training in all forms, whether it be running, weights, circuits or anything For me, training takes priority and I could probably achieve so much more if I added the extras in but it's not really about that for me, hard to explain

I guess it's that feeling of physical superiority to the day before. Waking up with tensed muscles, a dull ache still set in them from the previous work-out, a spring in your step as your legs power you forwards to whatever you want to do! Physical well-being sharpens the mind, it makes me happy, it's a 24-hour natural high and I don't understand why everyone in the world isn't out there doing it. When I'm fit, I feel like nothing, or no-body in the world can stop me and as far as increased levels of confidence, general awareness and energy are concerned, it isn't too far from the truth. Just my 2 cents, I don't take suppliments or steroids, but the rest is true.
