just need a lil hand with stuff for work, all we have at work is a fridge so its all cold stuff for lunch, have no access to a microwave or a kettle, so was thinking of cooking up some wholemeal pasta with some peppers and 1/2 jar of dolmio sauce, a spoon of pesto and cook off a chix breast, dice up the chix and stir in with pasta and sauce, leave to cool then tub it and whack it in the fridge ready for work tomorrow, u think this will be ok eaten cold? im having nightmares of opening the tub and just not bein able to eat it lol

also would like rice aswell on different occasions with some chicken but not sure how to keep the chix succulent whilst fridged and cooked night before also with rice i feel that when cold with would just all stick together and taste horrible plus, u kinda have to be careful with rice dont u as can cause food poisoning easily (or am i getting confued with summat else? )

would love some ideas please for cold work food for fridge, am looking to bulk so calories are my friend :)

tuna is another thing that i know of but what else can i eat, i do like my meats and poultry also fish too, also any nutritious and mineral rich foods i could whack in my lunch box, i also take nuts and some dried fruit and normal fruit, i have 3 breaks a day 2 x 15min ones and one 1 hour break so nice for eating regulary so would love some suggestions, many thanks :)

Have you considered a food flask?

I have one and it's really useful. You can have stir fry's, rice dishes, couscous dishes, soup etc.

This is the one I have and I love it because it can keep different food items separate IE: Rice in one tub and curry in another.

It has received some poor reviews on this site, but I have to say that the comments made have not been my experience.

May sound like a stupid question but fo you stick the olive oil in after you've drained the rice or while its boiling. The reason I ask is coz my old housemate used add it to the water when cooking spaghetti

I usually put it in in the morning after its been in the fridge all night. just add a little n mix it up. Think i've added it after its been drained as well but never before.

A current one im playing with is cous cous and tuna, had it a few times with red onion and tomato and a splash of olive oil. I also tried it mixed with coleslaw which was lovely

Why settle for cold food. Get a stanley heatkeeper flask, I use mine everyday and it's available from Wilkinson Stores http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/invt/0248968. Simply put your rice, couscous, stew etc in the flask and bug it in the microwave full power for 4 minutes in the morning before you leave for work and come lunch time you have hot food to eat.

I do both, a few drops in the water whilst cooking and then a bit afterwards when it's cooked.
