I was in the hairdressers opposite the orange tree/newshouse. Maybe it was not you, but when i saw your pic ^ i was sure i had seen you.
Unfortunately its not my family tartan, i do have a snowboarding helmet with the family plaid on it though!

I guess when your legs look like that no-one is really looking at the shorts.
They are short shorts though 
Be interesting to see how you enclose them in combats or similar as they would have to be sizeable if not voluminous.

I don't want to go too off topic , but I do believe that to truly understand a country one must go there and see it for yourself. I also think that the relaxing of the tourism restrictions in the country is a force for change, albeit a very slow one. Laos is a very good example of that, but even they have a long way to go. I've met many people that have been to Myanmar multiple times and they all seem to be of the impression that the country is changing at that the military dictatorship is softening gradually. It's a painfully slow process as the recent problems with the monks and aid distribution demonstrate. I also realise that there's many more issues than the simple picture I've painted above. As ever I'll weigh up all the factors before going.

I agree-when I went to the states I'm so glad I didn't venture from the tourist spots-less chance of being shot,stabbed,raped,hung drawn and quatered,bummed,gang banged, locked in cellar and visited daily by a man called Clive dressed as Marlyn Monroe

I hadn't, no. I take it you mean the referendum? Yes, it's obscene timing and I'm almost 100% convinced that democratic elections in 2010 mean nothing of the sort. Their refusal to allow foreign aid workers in is very paranoid, and hardly in their country's best interests. I don't think that really alters my thinking above - I believe that things are slowly changing. It may be naivety, we'll have to see. Incidentally the Voices for Burma website has some discussion on the subject.

Thanks - I'll have a read of that! As I said above the decision will take a lot of weighing up.

I rarely wear shorts in public, as my left right calf is at least an inch bigger than my left and I've had comments before
