I look as though I slept the night on a park bench, possibly due to being AWOL from barracks.
Believe me, the trainers are the definite highlight of that ensemble.

Shorts look okay to me.
Maybe consider a tee shirt with some sort of amusing logo? - that's a rather large area of light blue with not much to break it up
