Why dont you do as I said and scratch the side of his car with your key. Simple and easy and no proof but he wont leave it there again.

If somone is known for being a hot head who flies off the handle and who shouts agressivly at the slightest thing then these types usually avoid trouble unless they come up against somone the same as them or worse.

No it can get worse. I've had prostitutes living next door.. drug dealers.. even a soundsystem 'nightclub', complete with stage, and dozens of piddy pence wannabees in a next door terrace.

In a small town maybe. But big towns churn continuously... it's hard to brew a reputation in towns that churn. I think anonymity breeds courage. Not that I am trying to brew a reputation. I just wish people weren't ****s. I'm a good neighbour and wish everyone was like me.

One thing that was funny... last time we had an argument (about the fence) I did get slightly agressive but didn't reach for him or anything, but was on the verge... he said, "go on, flex your muscles" even his wife looked at him like WTF I looked at his wifes brother and we both couldn't help raising a pre-smile I think he ment something like, "stop throwing your weight about" or along those lines. So I do get a bit of satifaction knowing they are dim wits (not that I'm a brain box myself). Plus I think his frizy haired wife wated a bit of H20 when he fitted my boiler. Still it's not good living in conflict with the ajoining house.

What on earth!? Beating them up? Damaging their car? Have you no respect for the property of others!? It is a sorry state of affairs indeed but there is nothing you can do. Perhaps invite them over for a meal and attempt to resolve this or just face facts and get on with it. Ironic that there is a tendency to berate youths and those who act in an anti-social manner yet certain members then advocate what amounts to wholly criminal activities.

I know this because when somone was threatening me he offered me the contacts and told me about his own experience but I ignored his help and talked to the guy. Even though we supposed to have settled it hes still trying to find ways to haras me though.

Sorry to hear this Jon. I've been in a similar, long term, situation. As much as you can, try not to let this stress you out & eat you up. They're doing it to annoy you, don't let them win. Not sure it'll be worth it, but have you considered going to the CAB, or probably better still, a free 30 mins with a solicitor (they legally have to give you this I believe)? Moving house is a big move, - you could change your car to something you care less about.... - then, everytime you have to walk past a car outside your own house, key it. You could do 101 things to retaliate and p1ss them off, but at the end of the day, none of these things will help the situation, - in fact they'll definitely make it worse. I think dropping the curb and making a driveway of your front garden would be the best solution if you want to continue living there, - if you aint got the money just stick it on the mortgage - you probably know anyway but be careful about making formal complaints about the neighbours as these will have to be declared by law when you move All the best, keep us posted

You lucky bastard, bet a few of us wouldnt mind living there! That soundsystem resulted in a full gang brawl outside my home. Cars got damaged etc. The John's for the prozzies would often ring the wrong doorbell at 2am. No. That weren't fun. Ultimately house prices/rent being what they are got those ****s out. Dickheads have problems paying bills generally. Not nice mate, I was joking when I said Id like that situation. Although there was a time when Id have loved to live next door to some prossies.

It's not eating me up, it is winding me up... look outside and see thee car sat in the way when they have an empty drive it really is daft. Might post that neighbours from hell article through in an envelope saying HINT on it in big letters.

Apollo - We are young, with kids and stuff so noise to a certain extent wouldn't really bother us too much, when we lived in a maisonette we lived next door to a dealer with cars pipping there horn at all hours In a way living with an animosity is maybe worse (for us anyway) In our rented house we had really good neighbours both sides so this was a shock I had previously rented since I'd left home 14 years ago, what I have found is private residents have no fear of being kicked out, if they are not naturally inclined to be nice... they don't have to be
