Hi, Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could stop awkward next door neighbours parking outside my house where I normally park my car? They do it just to be annoying, they have a double drive as well with a dropped kerb so I can not just park out side there house. Is there anything I can do? There's probably no law or anything to stop them is there? So, put something in the way maybe... they would just move a cone? Any ideas?

Have you tried peeing on your bit of the kerb? Pheremones are powerful territory markers.

Don't think there's much you can do mate (legally anyway ). How about buying a cheap second hand moped that you leave in situ when your cars not there

Hello say to them you got a drive way not being funny use it. I've not got one out side my house so I need to park out side my house other wise can I park on your drive way out side your house make it clear what there doing. If they dont listen think about having your pavement lowerd and get your car on a drive way and sort some slabs or stones out to drive on to this will solve your problem 100%. If they be funny when you do this video camera everdence is best used on them they wont stand a chance then.

if they have a double driveway too then they should be able to park in theirs?? if they are parking over your lowered kerb you can have the vehicle moved for obstruction = £130 towing fee plus £12 a day storage plus obstruction fee £30 if they are not over the lowered kerb your struggling mate sorry

If they be funny when you do this video camera everdence is best used on them they wont stand a chance then. You've probably not read some of my other posts... We are not on speaking terms mate, they are weirdos. - They look in our windows. - They get there visiters to do the same. - They call the police if we have an argument in our house, they did it this morning... I had to drop my mum off for her cruise, when I got back my desent neighbours was at the garden talking to my GF. Next door had called the police as my GF had shouted to my son hurry up as he has a football tournement and he wasn't getting ready, nothing serious just day dreaming and taking him time... luckily decent neighbour across the road was out in his garden and told the copper what actually happened, the copper knew us from our shop anyway and said he was really sorry he had to come. This was not the 1st time they have done that. - They even arguged about me replacing the back fence at my on cost on my land, it wasn't cheap either. The fencing firms won't work unless neighbours both agree... I don't think it's a legal thing they just don't want to be involved. - Plus the park where I do on pupose as they know it's a hassle. Having a word doesn't work with people like this, they have no quarms about having a full on public slanging match... would get me nowhere but more angry at them. Dropping our kerb would solve it but too expensive ATM as we need to money for other things.

I had a similar problem at my last house. I was the only one on the street with off road parking (for one car). We have two cars, one we stuck on the drive and one was outside the house. Next door/other random people would just put their car outside our house which meant we then had to park it 50 yds down the road. Next door really wound me up as they had two cars too, one of which sat outside their house and the other they thought they could put outside mine meaning I had to stick ours down the road!!!! I had several words, each time he stopped doing it for a while but it never lasted. I have a shortish fuse and was close to getting really angry with the guy...he only had one arm though and I felt guilty It was doing my blood pressure no good so we moved to a quiet cul de sac with parking for two. Unless they're respectful of you John and park elsewhere when asked there isn't a lot you can do

They are being awkward, so I want to stop them... just can not think of anything to do to stop them apart from running them over and doing static on there heads.

nothing worse than awkward neighbours mate you could write a polite letter, or leave a line of dog poo on the kerb side so they step in it when they get out of the car?? on a serious note you could contact the council and put your case across or even the police a word spoken by the right person may do the trick

Sounds like a very small part of a bigger picture. Sometimes it's easier to consider moving. If you had harboured thoughts of moving, then perhaps this could be the catalyst. There's little you can do legally or illegally that will have the desired effect. These people clearly have no respect for other people, so there's little to gain from reasoning with them. Perhaps ask them directly what it would take for them to use their driveway instead of parking outside your place. My guess is the reply will be something along the lines of 'We're not breaking any laws', to which the reply would be 'That doesn't answer my question'. Continue leading them until you get a reasonable answer out of them. Then consider what they want. Even if it was say 50 quid. It would be 50 quid well spent if they left you alone from that point. Sometimes a sacrifice will break the stalemate. Consider what is preferable, completing the request or standing your ground on the overall effect of the quality of your life.

Yep, we want to move... but just have other things happening business wise so just not viable right now. When we do move we are going to rent it out to the most drunkenist student/DSS/drummer/band practise type people as we can LOL. There is literally no point in attepting to speak civally, I went through that with the fence and it was a complete nightmare... there attitude was take me to court and I'll drag it out another 18 months. Don't forget this was my fence, paid for in full by me, on my land to replace a bent and rotten fence that kept falling over in the wind... you would think they would be happy about it!!! What is funny is we over heard the talking to there visitor telling them it looks miles nicer now with the new fence as if THEY had done it!!! They would have the same attitude... big slanging match then take me to court bolloks. I could just nut him (which is the obvious thing to do) but what good would I be to my family if I was locked up. He would not tell the police if it went far enough to scare the life out of him, but that then would be ME taing it too far. Stupid isn't it.
