erekose -> RE: mattress - how much? (May 10 2008 11:24:11)

I can't offer any prices I'm afraid, but I do think that mattresses are one of those things that it's worth spending out a bit more for. After all you get a lot of use out of it.

You dont want soft matress worse thing ever no good. Definet medium to hard matress are the best to go for I went to local factory who makes them looked online first then checked with them prices then went there found they were much cheaper direct at the factory ideal if any around your area to save alot money I paid £80 it should of been £160 to £200 in the shop. I also picked item up my self so saved on delivery charges[8D]

Yep. Mine costs me more than the bed it's on. I think about £350+ for the bed and £450.00 for the mattress (whole lot was close to £800 anyway). You can pay a lot less but like erekose said it's worth it. Although the salesmen talk some **** weighing what I do and sleeping the same 8 hours a day as most means it needed to be good.

The difference between this bed and the futon I had before was out of this world.

I heartily recommend Ikea mattresses.

Firm, supportive, durable, cheap.

Crunch -> RE: mattress - how much? (May 10 2008 11:58:52)

Mine was £200 for a single bed one, worth every penny.

Agree totally. My last mattress cost £350 quid which I thought was very expensive but it was totally worth it for the comfort every night

brazilianbloke -> RE: mattress - how much? (May 10 2008 12:48:03)

im thinking of buying from argos, im wiling to pay up to 140quid .. im waking up everyday with pain in my knees, back, neck, shoulders etc, but last night i was over my friends house and slept in his bed .. i woke up today feeling fresh, havnt felt this way in ages

£140 will get you the largest mattress in this range: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00073384

JBRSS -> RE: mattress - how much? (May 10 2008 14:36:22)

I agree with John Kerr, all 3 double beds in the house have an IKEA mattress and they are extremely comfy and have lasted ages

Skrewdriver -> RE: mattress - how much? (May 10 2008 14:47:00)

Go around lots of bed shops and try them out, - as said above, it's definitely worth paying out £££ for a decent one. £2,000 for example might sound like a lot for a bed, but over 10+ years it really isn't for something you'll spend 1/3 of your life on.

Sheets & quilt/pillow covers are also important, go for 100% cotton.

Also pillows, - you can spend a fortune on them too, - don't be getting cheap and nasty toot [;)] you'll be glad you didn't

Scott32 -> RE: mattress - how much? (May 10 2008 17:00:03)

I brought a 1000 spring pocket sprung mattress just resantly as my old one had a big dent in the middle of it lol.

It cost £850rrp but my mate got it for me for £600 as his dad owns the bedding place.

Mobster -> RE: mattress - how much? (May 10 2008 17:06:47)

I think mines a 500. But it's a massive bed - great to sprawl across.
