As weve just had a thread on which aftershaves smell nice I was wondering, apart from smelling nice what positives do aftershave actually have?

Is it good for your skin?
Does it benefit skin health when used directly after a shave?

What more do you want from smelling nice?

I think the alcohol isn't too good for your skin.

A good deodorent under arms can make you smell nice though. Facial skin health is very important isnt it, how you look. I moisturize with Nivea for men morning and night.

The music venue / club

It's just that there's this toilet attendant that spends all night chanting things like:

"No spray, no lay"

"No cash, no gash"

"You touch it, you wash it"

And many many more inanities

It's enough to drive you mad.

Whilst I've seen many an epic gig at the Astoria. It is not without a sigh of relief that I hear it is to be torn down soon.

Overpriced beer and tickets, unruly doorstaff and yes......that bloke in the toilets!.

Good riddance.

I have mixed feelings - I been going there for donkeys years, and it's conveniently located near Charing Cross. However, it's the points you make above that spoil it.

My only concern now is where bands are going to go now. The Astoria's capacity is around 2000ish IIRC. I cant think of another medium to large venue in central at all. I mean there's Brixton Academy to the south, though that's around 5000 capacity and the Hammersmith apollo which is slightly less but these can be a bit of a pain to get to and from.

Belived it was to be used to close the pores after shaving to protect from infection.

Yes, that's a real problem, especially for me now that I have to travel up from the Kent coast. It takes a long enough time as it is without having lengthy tube journeys. I haven't been to the Apollo for many years - is it still seating-only? The Academy is obviously out of a smaller band's league.
