| Rosc0PColtrane -> RE: To Find Out Or Not (May 10 2008 13:28:18) | We didn't at 20 weeks. Though we just have at 34. It's enabled us to buy things that are appropriate, instead of just white. On our first scan at 7 weeks, the scanning nurse didn't call it baby or bump. For some reason she called it Douglas. We found that funny and from the 7th week, the bump has been Douglas. We have no intention of calling our baby that. It just stuck. After the 20 week scan, we decided we should find out because we'd automatically asisgned a sex to our baby from calling it Douglas. We needed to be able ajdust our mind set up front, or not, depending on the sex. There's a strong arguement for either course of action. Some like the surprise (like a baby isn't a surprise enough!), some think more practically. I'm glad we found out. It's been great knowing!! If you don't plan on telling people what the sex is until it arrives, wait for the next scan. Keeping that secret these past 2 weeks has been hell. I'm glad we didn't find out nearly 20 weeks ago! |
