Help , i'm using a different laptop and i have to press the 'fn' button when i use certain keys or they appear as numbers or symbols.For example if i try to type 'kill' it comes up '2533' . There doesn't seem to be a 'fn' lock and it's doing my head in

yes but when i press it it doesnt seem to do anything. the number lock is on the F11 button

Hold the "fn" button down, then whilst holding it, hit the "f11" button.

I have had the same problem before.

Try fn numlk once to return back to normal
Try fn del

If neither work then go into devise manager got to keyboard and use remove button. Then restart it will reload the drivers and keyboard and should be back to the original

Good luck as a nightmare i know
