hurt my right shoulder some time ago dumbell pressing. since then i cannot press in the dumbell position with any type of weight without getting pain.
i can get away with seated barbell pressing if i make sure my arms go straight up and down and dont flare out.
parallel bar dips make it feel like the shoulder is compressing in.

incline bench is fine and so is rowing etc.

should i lay it off anything that causes pain in it for a few months? or is there something particular i can do.

the pain isnt in the muscle. its inside the shoulder.

I'd go and see a physio to be honest. They should be able to tell you what the problem is, what you can do, and some exercises to make it better

Go see a physio and lay off anything that causes problems.

I had a large 'not' on the back of my shoulder blade, just on my rhomids, which caused a lot of discomfort and a few problems. After a few seesions the physio sorted it out, chated about a few things and gave me some specific stretches. No longer have problems training, but still aches a bit If i spend a lot of time in the wrong posture (writing / typing). Definately worth paying for!

Mine was about £30 for 30minutes. So £1 a minute. And I have been twice, although I feel I may need a third session in a few weeks.

They're not too dear. The one I went to was £35 for the first session (1 hour), and £25 per hour session after that

Well worth paying for IMO

Phone around though, try and get a sports physio preferably
