Mine was seeing Kiss on their 'Psycho Circus' tour in 1999.Great live show, even if Ace Frehley did hit the odd duff note.

Also saw Godsmack in a club in Boston in the States in the late 90's just after their first album came out.My girlfriend at the time had relations there and one of her cousins used to go to the same High School as 2 of the members of the band.It was a great show and the atmosphere was mad!!.

For me it probably has to be Fugazi at the Brighton Centre in 1999

Myself and a couple of mates piled into his little beat-up Ford Fiesta and drove all the way down. Amazing the car made it all the way, as it was in a proper state

Anyway, great show, Fugazi played brilliantly, great atmosphere, and only £6 entrance Been to countless gigs since, none have topped that yet

Honorary mentions:

As Friends Rust and Grade at the Underworld, late 2000

Botch and Dillinger Escape Plan, also at the Underworld, 2000

Type O Negative at the London Astoria, late 90s

Ed Rush at the Cavern in Exeter, late 90s

Been to lots of gigs that I don't remember, but those were good

Well Reading was just one massive 'gig' of feckedness.

Best acts I saw there, for various reasons were:
Kings of Leon
Red Hot Chilli Peppers (very sureal)
The Macabees
The klaxons

One night I was just staying in and I got a call from a mate saying he had a spare ticket to Dizzee Rascal. Went to that and it was bloody good. Did it really well. He came on with some of his classics, then his newer tunes, one of them mixed with an Arctic Monkeys tune and then it went into a set full of hip hop/indie/rock classics. Nirvana - teen spirit etc. Then a beat boxer came on who was decent. Finished up with some of his classics. Great gig.

I was at that Type On Negative gig mate!.

They played with Coal Chamber, and Static X were meant to play as well but they buggered off back to America to do a TV show there.Good gig that one.

Guns & roses , supported by Faith no more and Soundgarden in 1991 (I think) at the old Wembley stadium

Despite having replaced Original guitar player Izzy Stradlin with Gilby Clarke , Izzy actually played that night as a one off ,
Also , Brian May made a guest appearance and played "We Will Rock You"

Most amazing gig I've ever been to , and I'd be VERY surprised if I ever top it

One I went to last week was kick ass.

Parkway Drive+ Bury Your Dead, Suicide Silence and Shaped By Fate at Nottingham Rock City

Would have been even better if it wasnt for 'hardcore dancers'...and the fact that Suicide Silence might be the worst band in existance.

But the best so far would have to be The Black Crusade @ NEC Arena last year...standing tickets about 3 rows from the stage, ****ing epic

I also had an altercation with the coffin at the same funeral, although it didn't look like a coffin to me. An easy mistake to make in my opinion.

That's the one mate

Type O played an extended set because Static X were absent, so that was a double win for the fans. Great atmosphere I thought

Wonder if I bumped into you?

I was fairly near the back up the top.Good viewpoint there actually. Not been to the Astoria since actually.

I have a ticket for Queensryche in June though. Was meant to see them play with Thin Lizzy end of last year but they pulled out last minute.Diamond Head replaced them.Good gig though.

was that at astoria? if so i was there.

Best gig i have been to is The Foo Fighters in hyde park with queens of the stoneage, motorhead, juliette and the licks and angels and airwaves. Nothing better than a gig in a park with 90,000 people and a lot of beer.

been to a few gigs , not loads , but wierdly the best one for me was david grey

the worst has to be radiohead , although i love most of their albums they seemed to dissappear up their own electronica arses for a good portion of the concert !!

I'd have to say that in my view, the opposite is true. I prefer a smaller venue

The atmosphere at large festivals is inherently diluted. I have nothing against festivals, they're just not as intense as dedicated gigs
