Can i see results in 40 days?
-
10 May 2008 18:57
Hey, Ive been trying to get motivated to bulk up for summer but it hasnt really happened. Ive now got 40 days to my holiday and i am desperate to get fit and bulk up before i go away. My question is, is it even possible to see results even if i have the perfect diet and work out really well? Im currently 18, about 6 foot and 152 pounds. I want to get to about 170 pounds and develop a six pack. Im going to be working out for the entire summer, but should i push myself before my holiday or is that really too short of a time to see any results. I want to try and get definition in my abs and work on my shoulders and arms a bit, as well as improving my overal fitness. I also have weight gainer and creatin, if used in conjunction with exercise and diet, will this give me a better chance? Regards, James

Hi James. 40 days is just under 6 weeks. You want to put on 18lbs in 6 weeks to reach your target. If you do that, there is no way that you will have a 'six pack' that you desire.

Nah i dont, but because im a little skinny i dont think it would take a huge amount of time to start to see results. Yesterday i brought a sit up bar and some new dumbbells so im pretty determined to make this work. Here is a pic of me a few weeks back, you might lose your lunch if you look at it though ;) : Picture I finish my exams in a few days and so i will be free every day up to the holiday so if its possible i can really go for it. Can i not tone up and gain weight at the same time?

I would personally scrap the thought of looking good for this holiday and put a plan of action in place whereby you train hard and adopt the lifestyle and reap the rewards by looking great in the next year or so good luck

You might as well go for it mate.Im going in holidays on June 17.Im doing a mini-cut till then.I know people will say its a waste of time but I dont have the discipline anyother times and if it works all good and if it doesnt at least ill have tried.Im aiming for 1/2stone.Just go for it. Get yourself some whey and creatine if you want.Just eat properly.

If your new to training, then you can make quite quick gains and so you could bulk for a while. BUT bulking, unless you are very careful(and even then), will increase bodyfat. I suppose it depends on what you want. Be slimmer(with abs possibly) or have a larger frame with a little extra fat. Dave
Weight 92kg Bench 40kg x 3/4 dumbells (37.5kg x 8-10) Squat 150kgx6 Dead 120kgx6 (lagging) Kriptonite: Tobacco Quit: Haven't

9lbs in one month will probably mean more fat than anything else. I wunt do it just for the sake of a holiday. Think forward to next years holiday instead and be a good shaped 12stone maybe even 13stone at a push.
13.12 Stone, 5ft9.5: 1RM Dead 205kgs 1RM Bench 130kgs 1RM Smith Flat Bench 150kgs 1RM Squat Unknown, but 150kgs for 2.
