Hi,

I've read somewhere before your tri's should look like a horse shoe if there pretty well formed?

I've been doing a dedicated tri work out for a while now and have pretty good size tri's but its only half a horse shoe in shape...

will it eventually develop or do I need to work a different part of my tri?

I mainly do close hand press ups, dips, skull crushers, close arm bench press, the one with the EZ bar behind the head and various tri work outs using a cable machine (sorry for not being over technical)

My tri's are quite sore 24 hours after the workout and have certainly developed but not fully.

Thanks

yeah he's getting the horse shoe there. my problem is i don't want to be massive at all more of a cover model look with nice defined muscles.

20 mins bike to the gym followed by a 10 min run to warm the body up

I'd maybe do 10 x 3 close hand press ups to warm up the tri's
10 x 3 dips
10 x 3 skull crushers at 18kg
8 x 3 close hand bench at 15kg each end with a big bar
10 x 2 behind head with EZ bar

2 lots of 10 x 3 on cable machine but not sure of the name got it from mens fitness guide but works well. As this is only carried out once a week I like to give them a good hit and I can certainly see growth

Your tricep routine is over the top. Also consider the fact that they'll be used with chest and shoulders.

i would only stick to 9 sets max not including warm up, so 3 diff excerises 3 sets, if you can increase the weight, increase it, you will get there, with a good diet

Col, you may only stick to 9 sets, but if he is like me, my tri's and bi's need to be hammered to see any gains. But as Col says, i would try and increase the poundage you are lifting.

Dont do so many isolated tricep exercises, you want some good compounds in there like bench presses which will develop your triceps

try doing some heavy close grip pull downs follow by reverse grip pull downs. If you have the energy then super-set them both together. Make sure your form is good, elbows tucked in and control the weight

your horse shoe comes from overall tricep work, no point trying to isolate front and back or over doing it with endless tricep exercises.

i usaly find that does the job, burn, cramp, and hurt for few days. good form and increasing weight does the job
