Of what Lard?? Of course it's good and one presumes from the 2500kcals a day some is protein. I'm not sure that 2500 is enough but then you might be a midget.

protein is essential to build muscle but protein shakes/bars arent as long as you havea protein rich diet (which most dont) u'l be ok

No, you dont need protein, in fact, if you eat protein and work out, youre muscles will shrink and youll get smaller. Its best to lots of white carbs, potatoe, rice, bread, thatll get you big. Crisps are pretty good too for bulking, mars bars will make you hench as well.

the next logical question is does actually lifting the weights help build muscle or is just staring at them hard and imagining lifting them enough to build muscle.

Oh right lol well that is'nt my diet anyway. I don't know how much protein i have, i admit it is hard finding protein i'm not alound supplements (parents)
