BB.com forum is pants, too many hyped up tweens on there giving it large along with the stupid 'no homo' comments. i hate it but they also have some decent members too.

i think MT was the best when TT (steve) was here, his knowledge on everything related to BB was indispensable. MT is still great but not the best these days.

EDIT:

i forgot to mention, i prefer MT over BB forum as the tone and culture is more friendlier and professional (disregarding general section)

TT believed his own hype and started posting like he was untouchable... arrogant, snide and a general prick at times.
90% of the other time he was an asset

>.Poll now added to establish once and for all - "would you?!"
Would you that is ban members such as Roots for starting such childish threads and inviting such trite contributions despite him being here long enough to know that such posts aren't appreciated here on MT, even in the 'little boys club' otherwise known as "General". <<

What a shame this poll didn't include a few more options to multi-select like:-

(3) Is Muscletalk really going to become the domain of preachy "you can only talk about what I approve of" types?

(4) Can we ban people who are so self-righteous and lacking in any sense of proportion or humour that they wish to impose overbearing political correctness onto an internet message board?

After all, if you feel so strongly about it, Osagi, that you want to hijack someone's thread with your own disparaging poll, then you could at least have the decency to allow some poll selections for those of us who don't agree with your opinions. Then, maybe, we can really see what people think, instead of only getting votes from people who agree with you.

Whilst I have no personal interest in contributing to a thread entitled "worth a squirt" like the one you describe, I'd certainly defend the rights of the posters to make general chat which may not be to the tastes of all readers. The alternative is a very bland, colourless, sanitised board which only the most mind-numbed would have any interest in.

Can we not have a lad's section on the board ... For comedy value alone...

I did suggest something similar a little while ago......

So your answer to improving the quality of posting in the General forum is to invent a new forum dedicated to puerile banter and sexist commentary?

How may I ask would this aid the board owners' desire to improve the quality of certain members contributions toward the forum, not to mention how would this 'lads forum' be perceived by prospective new members looking on?

No my friend, far better to eliminate this problem by removing the cause, rather than simply giving the less mature members of the forum a new playground to hang about in.

If you disagree I'd like to hear your reasons why Swift, maybe have 6 pints and a little think about it before responding however.

Osagi

ouch.

This is a bodybuilding forum.

meatheads are your bread and butter whether you accept that or not.

fcuk me, you dedicate a site to musculature and how to use anabolics and androgens then moan when a few members get a bit horny.

you were just as bad for the banter back in the day aswell osagi

Your editted comment didn't go unnoticed Swift. I'm glad you saw fit to edit it out and hope it wasn't left there intentionally to provoke a reaction

You forgot to say "privately owned, commercial internet message board" where the rules are laid down by the board owners and upheld by their chosen team of mods, which is what you see me doing here.

Second to enforcing the board owners wishes the mod team exists to take on board the views of the majority of members reading this forum and ensure that the minority does not spoil this majority's enjoyment of the board, which again is what you see me doing here with so many members confirming they are in agreement with my actions.

Thirdly, as a long standing member of this forum, yes I do feel strongly about this subject and I'm not prepared to sit back and let a few infants (as that is how I view them) who will no doubt grow tired of this board in the short team drag down the quality of the forum and ruin the long term focus and aims of this online community.

So whilst you speak of wishing this board to remain a democracy where members can post what they like without fear of censorship, please allow me to remind you of the greatest aspect of a democracy - free will - in the sense that if you don't like the rules we set down here or don't appreciate or understand what we hope to achieve with these rules, please feel free to find another forum to post upon.

Other than that, thanks for your contribution

Osagi

Truth be told I was quite possibly worse for the banter mate and it was only when I was given the opportunity to take the role of moderator that I got to see the effects of my actions from the other side.

So yeah I was a bit of a tool back then, but I've hopefully since made up for those past indiscretions with my subsequent positive contributions toward the forum.

You've made some good contributions toward the forum yourself Swift, I'm just asking you and other members like you who also make worthwhile contributions elsewhere to consider a little more carefully how certain other posts can be viewed.

Oh and my 'six pints' comment was just a play of words from your previous contribution to this thread, sorry if it came across as a little harsh.

Osagi

Osagi did in deed banter but he was never infantile nor crude. Had he been he would not have been selected as a mod.
