but what do you expect on a bodybuilding forum?

Just to discuss this point of view a little further Swift, are you saying that because somebody is into weight training and bodybuilding then they run the risk of becoming so overcome with anabolic hormones that they lose the ability to control themselves and refrain from making sexist comments when pointed out it's inappropriate to do so?

Surely not?

Or is it simply that lads will be lads and we should accept this, even if it offends other members? Where then would this tolerance and acceptance end?

Osagi

you were just as bad for the banter back in the day aswell osagi

Truth be told I was quite possibly worse for the banter mate and it was only when I was given the opportunity to take the role of moderator that I got to see the effects of my actions from the other side.

So yeah I was a bit of a tool back then, but I've hopefully since made up for those past indiscretions with my subsequent positive contributions toward the forum.

You've made some good contributions toward the forum yourself Swift, I'm just asking you and other members like you who also make worthwhile contributions elsewhere to consider a little more carefully how certain other posts can be viewed.

Oh and my 'six pints' comment was just a play of words from your previous contribution to this thread, sorry if it came across as a little harsh.

Osagi

ok.

are you aware of my point of view now?
as far as I can tell your view is that we should accept the negative stereotypes about bodybuilders, and that they are in part caused by the use of anabolics.

as Osagi says.

However, when the subject of 'roid rage' is mentioned on here the concensus seems to be that it's a myth, a person who acts like an idiot on steroids does so because he was an idiot in the first place.

lol

ill ask a question if i may.

'What exactly as a moderator of a bodybuilding forum, do you expect from 30,000 odd members who are into weight training and male hormone injestion?'

can you honestly say you expect better?

I appreciate you like to tone it down from a business/attracting member perspective but i feel that talking about giving duffy for example one is kinda inevitable.

Id put money on the fact that most lads reading this post say similar things to there mates in the gym.

there is footage of dorian yates commenting on the 'asses of brazilian girls' on YT

Who some would argue is the king of uk bodybuilding

this i feel is the reality of the what is a male dominated sport

one of your very own, drab4 created the prettiest girl thread did he not.

I get the impression your running out of points to argue with me.

I referenced the use of anabolics correct. I did not however refer to roid rage

you really DO think that we should accept the fact that the majority are sexist & unable to control themselves, do you think it's use of seroids that turns them into morons or does bodybuilding attract morons.

If we're just talking about classic "laddish" behavior mate, no, what I see in this thread is pretty much what I expect, exactly the sort of stuff I expect and would perhaps find humor in down the pub with the other lads.

So straight out of the box so to speak no I don't expect better.

After pointing it out however that this kind of banter is unacceptable on numerous occasions, then at that point, yes I do expect a little better and as a mod and mebe rof this forum I'm entitled to look for and ask for something better from my fellow members, yeah?

I mentioned it because it's a common example of behavior influenced supposedly by steroids, and you seem to be saying that use of steroids is a factor the behaviour that is being discussed?

i think swift is trying to say, with a male biased forum you are going to get threads like this

some members have not been around long enough to know the rules as they change weekly somewhat here

have a line to what is accepted and stick to it so members have an idea once they stick around

leaving bad threads open just creates even more bad feeling

To be fair swift the prettiest girl thread is completely different to this one. Drabs thread was asking which famous women people find attractive. This one was purely intent on making Duffy some kind of sexual object .... It's a bit like comparing a Hilton to a Travel Lodge.

I understand your viewpoint.

So what is being asked here?

A complete reduction in threads related to any one female and there suitability as a mate?

Agreed -

However to move forward and bring this discussion to an end

rules need to be made to stamp out this (if this is what the board owners want)..

Or it will continue to be a game of chinese whispers in which people don't know where

the line is drawn.. nevermind when it is stepped over IMO

Edit - for spellings

Here Here!

It would be helpful if there was a clear stance taken by mod/admin team regarding threads such as these?
