Behind the back upright row?
-
13 May 2008 06:52
Anyone else use this? Ive been doing this for the past 4 weeks and its brought my previously weak rear delts out a treat. Rear delts are usually an underdeveloped muscle and from my experience and behind the back upright rows have really worked wonders! Anyone else do it?

no, i love my rotor cuffs any behind the neck/back exercise is asking for trouble due to the flexability it demands of the shoulders

Some people are completely fine with behind the neck exercises, others arent. Ive been doing behind the neck jerk for the last few months now and getting good gains

i'm with mma guy on this, i really don't like the feeling if the lift goes slightly eshewy, ok at the beginning of the set, but when you start gasping, it can all end in tears, but horses for courses and all that

I was on about behind the neck exercises as a whole, some ppl are fine, others arent. Kinda drifted off with the jerk i never slam it down on my neck either, controlled all the way by myself or partner. Great exercise tho

ORIGINAL: MMA Guy is 'behind the back' in reality...the front? have that too to ponder on lol, you know what i mean! For those of you still trying to figure it out... holding the barbell behind you like you would do for a 'behind the back' shrug (palms facing away from you) and do an upright row, i.e. pulling the bar from the top of your arse to your middle back - sliding it up ur back. Im a great believer in working the muscle rather than shifting the weight - and if find this works rear delts amazingly, i go quite light however to avoid and potential inury. I try all sortsa new stuff out to see if it works the muscle, trial and error if you like!
