Don't get me wrong I think if she could get proper help she would be on another level, none of these one hit wonders. But she's got a taste for it now, so sad. I remember a few years ago she did a radio interview where she sounded a bit distant, it turns out that at the time she was living in a pub .

i think shes pants, she cant sing live and has no talent outside of a studio

Do you not think this is also true of many recent artists mate? As I say I'm really struggling to find someone impressive these days.

Now does tha tmean their all sh1te or tha tI'm just getting old and I've reached the age where people start to say "that's not music..."

Indeed mate you have a very valid point. I still like a lot of the old classic bands, Fleetwood Mac still sound good live as they do on studio recordings. To me i class artists as having talent when they sound decent out of a studio. If you cant hold a note then i will call them a talentless wannabe.

Besides you can tell who has been enhanced as it blatantly obvious on most tracks anyway, most peoples voices dont have reverb or other effects that come naturally

This is why i like little known bands and small gigs as it means you can really sort the talent from the manufactured crap they churn out these days to sell a few million records

Duffy or Amy Winehouse? Have you ever seen the Amy live, fecking ell!!

Duffy cant sing live. When Amy was clean she could sing live, and i mean she was the business, not because shes a drug addict she has lost the soul from her voice IMO

I heard a track from her spot on Radio 1's thing last weekend. She sounded very good live.
I'm not a massive fan of her music but she certainly can hold a note.

i agree, i can't find an example of duffy exhibiting a poor live performance.

whereas amy winehouse i have seen it for myself back in 2006 supposedly before all the drugs etc. and she was terrible then and lets be honest has had a poor track record since.

She was also the winner of the Welsh version of Pop Idol, so I presume she had to sing live for that.

That's all I know about the Welsh songstress......honest

you need to get out to some concerts mate there are lots of current and up and coming bands that have talent by the bucketload.

and for that matter there are many HUGE bands of the past that are aweful live.

With the track record of these competitions she'll be around at least until the summer If you have ambitions to have a long career as a singer don't do Pop Idol!!

i'm not a massive fan of mercy but her new single 'warwick avenue' stopped me in my tracks, and not a lot does that.

I like it, it's recently been given a dance beat remix which perks it up a bit

she is a fabulous singer but many people won't get her vocal style, it can sound a bit twitchy but she has great tone, warmth and dare I say it - sexyness.

I hope she goes far.
