First of all my goal is mainly muscle size/gaining muscle. I know im gaining cos im putting on weight and can see i have, but i dnt seem to be increasing in strength much. should i be increase weights like every week? or doesnt it matter also im feeling the burn or working till failure? if i dont increase the weights or the amount of reps, will i only gain so much then stop? If im doing 3x8 and completing it, should i carry on doing that weight for a while, or shud i up the weight straight away, cos wen i do that i normally fail. alot of questions soz

Increasing in weight in not the be all and end all but is generally a marker for progress. There will come a point where you are lifting within your limits so the body will have no need to add muscle. Once I can get 3x8 I up the weight and start down at 3x6 aiming to add a rep or 2 each week, sometimes I exceed this sometime I fall short, c'est la vie

as Dirty said mate, if you are completing 3x8 then up the weight and attempt to do 3x8, keep going on that weight until you successfully do 3x8 for a week or two, then add more weight and start again...you gotta keep increaing the weight if you wanna keep growing

its good for motivation, i just got a pb of 148kg on bb shrugs for 8 reps its good for motivation as im buzzing with that and am aiming for 170kg (374kg) its also to do with breaking down of the muscle fibres isnt it? although there are other methods i love up pyramids on set reps (always aim for the same number of reps)

I try and get at least 1 or 2 reps out each week and increase the weight when i hit around 8 reps.
