so the guy would need a transaction number to collect the money? i.e he couldn't just go in and pick it up?

yep. To cancel the transaction they will charge you around £14

Hmm lose £200 or spend £14...

email him tomorrow when you have got your money back and tell him to go and pick the money up.

waste the fcukwits time as he's done with yours.

when he comes back and says its not there, tell him you gave him the wrong number by accident, then he'll go again, see how many times you can keep that up before he gets mad!

You need the 10 digit transfer number, plus name and address of sender, plus ID,to be able to pick up the money. If you have not given him these he can't get it.

Cancel it now,you will lose the transfer fee,and get your money refunded.

I have used WU many times in the past, though not with ebay. They tell you to never pay that way.Either Paypal or COD.
