Do you take your mobile into the gym and keep it with you whilst training?
If so, do you spend a lot of time texting on it?
I think JJB has a rule where you have to text during every set...

NOTE : I don't take mine... Missus has the gym number in an emergency

I have my phone with me. Unless it's the Mrs I generally won't answer it and will only reply to a text when I have a break between exercises (if I can be bothered).

I use it to time my sets and need it by me so if my wife needs me out sooner (as she's next door in the creche with our little trouble maker and baby terroriser) I can be there.

TBH I think most in there adopt similar principles with theirs apart from the odd one or two that has to drop everything to tell someone where they are and what they are doing

Mobiles should be banned in the gym, if you have a call go outside the gym room to answer it simple as.

Do you really get bothered by other people being on the phone?

Sure if you are waiting for the kit they are using and they are faffing about it would be annoying, personally I'd simply get on it and let them work in when they are ready, but someone chatting on their phone bothers me no more than someone chatting to their training partner TBH

Certainly BigD, there is certainly no NEED for it. I just don't find the practice particularly bothersome - and for me, if the Mrs called and I 'ignored' it my life wouldn't be worth living LOL

Why does making a call suddenly become important within the short space of time you're in the gym? Surely if it's that important you would have done it before hand.

Not so bad if they go out of ear shot but the last thing I want to listen to is about the previousl nights conquest or where the lads are going that night and what they intend to get up to

i've had some annoying moments with people on their phone at my gym recently, i just find it that when people are on their phone they can be rude and ignore you. whereas if they are talking to someone they are not too bad.

I do understand this though which is why i think why not just go outside the weight room and answer it.

That is very annoying, but not as bad as this "mate i'm in gym , curling big weights come up"

I only bring my phone into the gym when I'm using it to film new PBs.

The previous time I attempted a bench PB my wife actually managed to ring at the pricise moment I made the attempt, needless to say I only found out it hadn't filmed once I'd managed the lift and was sat basking in the glory about to watch my succesful attempt. Damn wives!!!!!

I only take mine in when I am still in working hours in case the office or a client phones, otherwise I will leave in the locker.

I don't take my phone to the gym and don't answer the phone if I am training at home

Unless I am expecting an important call (which is rare, I mean how many calls are actually important?)

Yes i take mine. I wont leave it anywhere else but on my personage.
I usually always put it on silent, not that i hear it anyway with my earphones in, but it would distract other members if 50cent suddenly started blarin out my pocket.
Had sayin that, the other day, my phone did go off and i didnt put it on silent, it was the better half in a rage as id taken both sets of car keys with me by mistake oops!
