Great computer.

Well if your stupid and don't know too much about comps like me and my family then I woud go for a mac. I have had mine for 4 years. During this time my dad has gone through two desktops, one he chucked as it was so ****ed, the other he is still using but it's very slow always crashes despite paying 800 for it. My mum has gone through two as well. One laptop which is pretty much dead now and a £1000 Dell which has amazing stats but is sooo slow, crashes and makes internet surfing horrible while on the same wireless modem my laptop is very speedy. My comp cost no more than any of their's, never crashes, no viruses as far as i can tell and also has 5 grand worth of copied software on it which has nothing wrong with it either..

Pretty much sums it up. I know someone on here will shout at me for not knowing how to keep a PC from crashing but it seems to be impossible.

We don't download, send/recive files or visit dodgy sites on the 'home comps' while I download everyday and visit a number of dodgy sites and still never have a problems.

I've got a Powerbook G4 btw.

Macs come with leopard now, so the least amount of RAM you're gonna want is the 2 gig.

I upgraded my 13" Macbook from a 512mb RAM to 2 gig and it's works a fair amount better. Great thing is that they tend to be really quiet, but that's not even the start to the perks.

I'm done with windows computers because when I couldn't be arsed to go through thousands of different upgrades to find the right one for my machine, it suddenly had the 'blue screen of death'. So I transferred my stuff by going in safe mode and have never switched it oin since. They're such a ****ing hassle when they want to be.

I reckon if you're running leopard. You're probably using tiger, no?

If you click on the little, blue apple icon at the top left, click about this mac and it will tell you the version. Mine is 10.4 (tiger).

Fair enough mate, but my experiences have been terrible, we have them at college and they are utter crap, and unfortunately we have one at home and had problems with it from day one, they fob you off to asian call centres and keep you hanging on the line clocking up phone bills, they take ages to reply to emails, then don't give you propper answers, just to waste more time and drag it out longer, they won't refund, and are trying to be real awkward about a return for a new one. Other people I know have had terrible probs, and also if you look at unbiassed MESH reviews some are shocking.

I'm glad to hear not everyone has had bad expreinces from them, just wanted to warn the op that not everything is great about MESH.
