are any of the above list strange things to do whilst being alone?

1) shopping
2) eating in a cafe (morrisons)

is any element of the above two strange if one is alone?

No, neither of those activities are strange, in my opinion.

Unless you're doing it naked.

Not as far as I know.

I shop on my own quite regularly - in fact I used to live on my own which gave me little choice but to shop on my own. If my Partner is busy (working etc) i'll go on my own to do the weekly shop or buy something specific. If i'm going to look at something computer or car related she'll just be a pain in the arse if I take her so i'll DEFINATELY go on my own, if at all possible. As far as the Cafe goes - it would only be weird if you ordered two meals and set 2 places. If you're hungry and on your own why not eat on your own??

so if you saw someone doing the above two activities (fully clothed) would you feel the need to stare and make comments with whoever you were with?

barr of course the person being a bulk monster

if the person was an average sized person, 5ft9 and about 15 stone with short hair and a beard (it was all the same length at the time) would you feel the need to look at him like he was the 5hit on your shoes?

No, I would not feel the need to do that.

there is a story, i am just wondering if there are instances where it could be weird to see if any are applicable to my scenario

I don't think they're weird at all. I've been shopping on my own many times

I'm curious about the story behind this

right, i have interupted my tuna as this story is getting built up a bit too much so i need to prevent the inevitable anti-climax

basically, i went to town today to get a new battery for my mobile, i was wearing a bench t shirt (nice and baggy), some black jeans and some black and yellow air max, i had my gold chain on (inside my tshirt) i had roughly a number 1-2 hair do with a number 2-3 beard, i had my festina watch on

when i shop i walk fast as i despise the whole process, even car shopping, i have relatively big shoulders and legs (hidden by the jeans) and my chest looks big but isnt, i ceretainly am not the biggest bloke around, nowhere near

yet every shop i walked in i was looked at like i was a leper, peope lseemed to follow me with their eyes, i smelt of adidas and lynx (not chocolate), i stood in a phone shops obviously looking lost and no-one approached me, peopel looked who worked there and eventually a chubby lady helped me

i went in a few more shops and the bank, etc with the same response more or less in every shop, including during my tiem in the phone box phoning me mother

i then had my lunch in morrisons, as i couldnt be bothered going home, i bought a paper and sat on a table for four (it was pretty quiet) i started to read my paper then my food came, i had
a full breakfast, some fanta, a bottle of water and extra toast

i ate my meal whilst reading the sun, i then finished my meal and walked off to continue shopping at a different venue (the trafford centre)

during my meal i felt as though i was in a goldfish bowl with people watching me, now as i stated on here yesterday i hate eating infront of people and was going to ask something along the lines of "do you have a problem"? but i thought this would cause a scene

i can eat, i use a knife and fork and the only possibly weird thing food wise was the fact that i cant eat egg white without red or bean sauce, so i had them with bean sauce, i also dipped my hash browns in my egg yolk

lily allen had her chest out on page three of todays sun, i didnt spend overley long looking at them, just a quick glimpse and then i proceeded so it wasnt that

upon reaching the trafford centre it was worse then the other town centre but not as bad as the morrisons cafe,

i know a lad who actually gave up bodybuilding because he got sice of everyone staring at him, but he was huge, i am not

Don't think "loser". maybe a lot of the girls wanted to jump on your bones??

And who cares what they think?? it's got F*CK all to do with anyone else how you present yourself to the world. That said, when I was training serious I used to just wear a collared shirt and Chinos when I didn't want to stand out. People just ignored me.

another thing is that people seemed to be surprised that i had manners, a few times i opened doors for people and they looked really shocked, i can only imagine that when i am shopping i emmit a subtle scent of not really being one to approach

i suppose they could have been looking and saying,
"look at that young man over there he was taught how to use a knife and fork"
or
"he's fat enough, that fry up will go straight to his muffin tops"

it seems to happen all the time though

Yup. Big Skinheads do tend to find that.

My GF sometimes nags me about using a knife and fork properly. Maybe she's got a point?

Or maybe she's just pretentious.

perhaps it's a thing that feeds upon itself?
I mean, you look in some way out of the ordinary or threatening, people stare a bit, which makes you feel self conscious and behave differently, they stare even more and so on.

If short sighted you could go without glasses/contacts so that you just don't see it (you'll also not see a whole of of stuff that you need to see of course)

yeah good point medusa, i suppose it partly ties in with your post of the other day (only loosley though)

the lad i imagine looked huge, he is a bit out of shape now but is one of those genetic mosters we all love so much i can imagine that he was a monster when he was in his prime, he said he got sick of people watching him all the time, the sort of thing i described but all the time apparantly and he is quite a private and shy person

we were supposed to be going training together a bit ago, i have no doubt that if we had,m even though he is 40 now i would be a lot larger and in better shape then i am, shame really
