I'm 2 weeks into my cutting diet and things are going well.

But next week I'm going down south for a couple of days. This means a night in a hotel and 2 days travelling.

My diet is pretty low carbs, even lower when I don't train, and I don't want to screw things up so early into the cut.

The first day won't be so bad as I can take a sarnie and quark shake with me in my cool bag. Then there's a Nando's opposite the hotel, so I can have a chicken salad and maybe even go for a run for cardio.

But then I'm stuck the next day. I'll need some breakfast, do some work til around lunchtime and travel home. So I'll have access to the services after about 1pm. So I need some kind of breakfast, mid morning snack, then lunch. Then what can I have from the services on the way home??

It's only a travel lodge so there'll be no fridge. All I can think of taking is some whey powder and my shakers to keep protein toppped up.

Any ideas????

Dam work getting in the way of things!

Mate some of my protein fudge bars and take them with you, they are low carb.

Not a bad idea. Are they ok out of the fridge tho? With the Quark in them?

They are usually fine mate.

I have taken them to rugby matches before and had them in my pocket for most of the time.

I suppose if they're in my cool bag with an ice pack, they still might be slighly chilled on the 2nd day.

Just need to think of something from the services

Well, I'm doing well so far.

I managed to squeeze a gym session in this morning before I left so had my usual oats and whey shake.

I stopped at the services for breakfast and they did a low carb breakfast!! Bacon, eggs and mushrooms. So I had that and I've got 6 of Gaz's strawberry protein bars to get thru! I'll have a couple over the course of the afternoon, then I'll see what the food in the hotel is like but I'm sure i'll get some kind of chicken or steak and leave the carbs out.

It's a full english buffet breakfast in the morning so I'll load up on eggs and bacon, another protein bar mid morning, then leave at lunch time tomorrow. I'll call at the services on the way home which may be tricky, then I should be home for 6pm where I can have my usual chicken salad.

The hotel has a "fitness room" so I'll be doing 40 mins SSCV before breakfast and maybe a bit of something tonight.

I thought this trip would wreck my diet but there's always ways round these things. I've just to resist temptation with my meal in the hotel tonight and tomorrow in the services.

there is always ways around every scenario.
most of the time people look into too much though and it gets complex.

True mate. Thing is, normally I'd just let myself go for a couple of days, eat what I want and enjoy the free food on expenses!

But I'm only into my 2nd week of cutting, plus this coming bank holiday weekend isn't going to be easy as it's the missus birthday which includes a meal, a night out plus a BBQ!!!! So this trip away was bad timing.

But hopefully, I'll be ok food wise and the fact that I've got access to CV equipment makes me feel much better.

One word mate TESCO! i work away quite a bit with my job so i have to buy everything i need to keep my diet in check there is always one near were you are anywere in the country, i buy tubs of quark, tuna, mackrel, bags of salad , chicken etc ... all you need is a big plastic tub to prepare your meals in, and i carry one bumbell with me in the van with 4.5 kg on each side and do a small workout in the hotel room or go for a run, if anything being away from home means there are no distractions and nothing to do at nights so have plenty of time to work out!

I've not seen a Tesco round here mate, but I know what you mean.

Had another protein bar and steak and salad for my evening meal from the restaraunt.

Plus I did some cardio before I ate. Another protein bar before bed and I'm sorted. Although I'm tempted to order a chicken salad from the bar seen as I've eaten so early!

Just the services on the way home tomorrow to contend with.
