Yup if people learn to use them responsibly then i think the crime would go down I certainly don't think it would get much higher, it needs properly controled and regulated however.

but guns are legal- HANDguns arnt, but rifles are- not easy to get though

Any person with authority abusing their position should be made an example of IMO:

Soldiers selling guns
Driving examiners accepting £200 to pass some dangerous driver (this MUST happen!?)
Doctors selling Drugs to addicts?!
Police turning a blind eye

im sure they all happen- although the guns thing is pretty crazy!
