2nd, Cardio 1st or into the weights and cardio? I would include both, start off with cardio on non-weights days. Have a look at the beginners articles on here, and the routines forum. Good luck mate, and welcome to MT

I'm not in Knorkopps class but please feel free to read my journal mate. I've been back in training for almost a year now after 15 years away and was in very poor shape when I started. I'm coming up for 42.

Hi, Still plenty of Testosterone left in the old bod at 44 or 45! Go for it young 'un Combine weights and cardio, do plenty of research in the Beginners and Nutrition sections and enjoy - good luck.

Thanks for the replies lads! Would it be best to hit the cardio only, to get rid of the excess weight, then concentrate on the weights? Looking at 4 days a week, 30 mins cardio, run /walk on treadmill and also cross trainer. Or would there be a greater weight loss combining the cardio with the weoights? Cheers

I started bodybuilding at 43. At 59 I have much more muscle that I had at 40 and somewhat less fat. I would suggest that if more muscle is what you want train for muscle now then get rid of the fat once you have made some muscle gains.
