maybe he is just nice, you have offered to take £100 if he wants to give you more gratefully accpet it, it doesnt sound like he's short of a bob or two.

Or maybe he's taking pitty on you after smashing into your £400 tinfoil car with one of his luxury motors

The film 'Changing Lanes'.

Sam Jackson gets hit by Ben Affleck on the motorway, Ben Affleck wants to just write him a cheque there and then to pay for the damage so he can get to a very important meeting.

But Sam Jackson is having some kind of breakdown and decides he wants to do everything 'The right way from now on', so he refuses Affleck cheque.

This sets of a chain of events that I can't really remember as it wasn't a great film, but the plot seems a little similar to your scenario.

I prefer to watch shoot-em-ups and narcissistic videos of me trying to pose onstage in bodybuilding contests - no matter how many times I watch them though, I never get any bigger.

Call me an old hermit but who is Ben Affleck?

Yeah I know what you`re saying mate and that you do have insurance, I`m just thinking if he thought maybe you didn`t at the time of your offer, then he would be giving you £100 for nothing if that makes sense ?

Anyway, will knock on his door tonight and ask him if he's sure he wants to claim. If he does, I won't bother.

Maybe he's further inspected his car and on close inspection he's found something - paint scratches etc..

Sounds an ok guy, so I don't suppose he'd want to come and talk/show you as he feels awkward now and thinks sod it I'll just put it through insurance!?
