is it alright to eat raw scottish porridge oats straight from the packet and addiong them to a shake?

I never cook mine and have no problems. Cooking may change GI of them thought not sure, have to ask someone else for that.

I put mine straight into a pint of semi-milk and a scoop of pure egg protein powder with a dash of 'crusha' milkshake flavouring and blend it.

The oats don't tend to blend as well dry but still managable (bit of a dodgy feeling last few gulps but still hits the spot)

i nuke them for about 2 min to soften them up the neck them or eat witth a spoon.

Rolled oats are already cooked as it goes so its perfectly fine/safe to eat them in their "raw" form

Only pinhead oats are truly raw and require cooking

Yeah, they're fine. I either cook them or whizz them up in a shake though, they're usually easier to get down that way.
