Which ones are they? I can only find the 700+ ones around the place, I've hit the bottom of those a couple of times during some rough times and it's not recommended. I think a smaller bottle is a better idea all round, as I really shouldn't have need of a litre of whiskey at 19 years old and the temptation to get wasted is just too great sometimes.

Sounds like a nice compromise, but to be honest as I usually drink in clubs and bars it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'll have a scope around, though, as I don't mind a quiet drink at home every now and again. I honestly had no idea they existed!

Realistically, what effect will getting drunk once a week do to your gains, providing you can still follow your diet the next day?

Your young, 8 pints once a week is nothing. Enjoy!

You'll still progress.

For me I found it was always the same routine, rush home from work on a fri evening shower and straight back out, then out on the sat all day/night and I think you fall into that routine where you start to get bored if you have a night in. I however don't drink at all now and I'd say its helped with training and eating etc but it depends on someones view of things, I still go out most weekends, ususally just one night a weekend but sometimes both and I just drink bottled water and have just as good night as I did before when I was always out my nut.

Vodka shots- 50 cals per shot.

Also I have a book somewhere saying that the darker the drink the worse your hangover. So vodka would be one of the best. Anyone else heard this?

Rarely drink. If I do, its only 5-10 vodka/JD and diet cokes. Lager makes me feel gash in the morning even after a pint or two. Prolly drink once every month or two. Used to think it was cool to get pissed. These days I don't give a fcuk about being pissed, just having a good laugh. Also I can be a n0rty boy when hammered so I avoid it!

Suprisingly drinking again is the best for hangovers, hair of the dog has some scientific backing lol

On a serious note, when I come in I down two pints of water, this stops you being dehydrated as alcohol is a diurectic. This will stop your head pounding, but I usually find my stomach still feels horrible even with the water treatment.
