Whey Isolate - 05 June 2008 08:50
HOLY SMOKES!!!

I ordered some of that whey impact isolate on tuesday arvo and its just landed on my door step, nice fast delivery from Myprotein.

Ok so this is my first go at taking whey for my trianing and ive seen lots of good shake ideas on hear. i was thinking of having first go post workout, would it be best to just have this with milk to start with or should i have it with oats and stuff?

any suggestions would be great thanks.

I don't see the point of mixing Isolate with milk when Isolate is meant to be not only somewhat faster absorbing then concentrate but being the ideal protein for people with lactose intolerence i.e. no lactose or fat. Mixing it with milk is basically adding lactose back in and fat depending on the milk.

Stick with water base mix I say and add carbs if you want.

thanks

Oh yeah i forgot to mention, im using isolate just because i am lactose intolerant but i am using 'lactose free milk' which is great by the way if you love milk but cant drink cows milk.

Ok well im happy with how im gonna take it and when, but i have done a daft thing by not ordering a scoop. @#*&$!!!

So i am now wondering if someone would be so kind as to give me an idea how many heaped teaspoons is in a large Myprotein scoop or any other way i can measure aprox 30grams. (this would be tricky with kitchen scales as its a small amount). just until my next order.

Many thanks in advance

I've just weighed a heaped tbsp of my whey and it was 15g.Obviously that may vary a little but not that much

You might wanna add simple carbs to you PWO shake - maltodextrin or dextrose would be ideal to boost insulin

You can buy dextrose (AKA glucose) at superdrug for a quid for 454 grams, with added vitamin C. I think it's cheaper to buy it like that (no delivery charges)
