Protein blends (taste issue)
-
06 June 2008 16:53
Ok so i have been using bedtime extreme as my protein blend for times other than breaky and pwo, for when i need a quick protein fix. I have used this since it was first recommended on this forum. I am now wondering if anything better has been released in terms of protein quality, cost and TASTE? Is boditronics midnight express the same kinda thing?

Syntha 6 kills most things in terms of taste - although I've heard Boditronics Midnight is very well rated on taste by Eddie and a few others on here. Boditronics probably still do samples as well I think. In terms of macros, Pro-Pep is very good. The Vanilla and Choc taste very nice, with the edge probably going to choc.

Pro-Pep has an equal amount of micellar casein and whey proteins with 6% of the total protein made up by egg white. So it is a very good blend. Boditronics midnight could be an even better choice pre-bed due to it having 70% mc 20% ew and 10 w. Both are very very good and you will not go wrong with either BSN has to be the best tasting shake I have every had and is a decend blend but more like a MRP due to the carb and fat content. John.

90+ is good for a cheap blend i havent tried Midnight by Mick and the rest have and theyre all very pleased with it i personally would just make my own, All-im-1 have a special on whey so get some of that and bung in some unflavoured MPC and add your own flavouring if you want something on the cheap that also does the job

ORIGINAL: darkershade Sometimes i won't be using this prebed though, as i also use it in the day when i am stuck for time Pro-Pep is what I used all last month for this. It was hard getting 300g's a day and Pro-Pep meant I could have something tasty with a wide ranging amino acid profile and varied digestion times. Syntha is tastier, but if you're using it a couple times a day a tub wont last long lol.

John. how many servings you get out of MDE? Hi Clubber mate. In the 1.8kg tub (the largest) you get 30 servings (40g of protein per serving) Cheapest place I have seen this for is here and if you buy two you can get them for £32.50 each. 3g HMB, 5g L-Glutamine and 5g Flax Seed Oil per serving. A decent product mate. http://www.bargain-supplements.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1236 John.

I was like 2 x 2.27kg tubs for £24.99 + postage i thought i was imagining things... Then i went on to MP and the have price beaten it by 4pence Even better, so just ordered a tub off mp and that 4p will be of course donated to charity.

i use syntrax matrix as an mrp, usually with a fibre supp and a serving of walnuts when i'm rushed and in need of a protein and fat/ low carb meal. have tried vanilla, choc and cookies and cream and they're all awesome. i get mine from cheapuksupplements altho there could be cheaper out there for it
