Kaneda's new journal - 11 June 2008 17:31
Decided it's time for a new journal - training and goals going pretty well right now but progress is slowing somewhat (cutting and lost a fair amount already so hardly surprising), maybe writing it down here will help.

Current goal as above is to shift some fat, going on holiday in just over seven weeks so want to get as lean as possible for that, already been cutting for about seven. In that time I've dropped 1.5 stone (21lbs) so a fairly sensible loss of 3lbs a week on average.

Currently 13.5 stone / 189lbs / 86kg. Hard to know exactly how much more I need to lose but I have a feeling I should be where I want at around 12.5 stone, but really I'll just keep going until I'm happy, only using the scales to ensure weekly progress is maintained rather than having a target weight.

So far I've been holding back on cardio for a few reasons:

1) I hate it
2) I can use it as an extra boost once progress slows (ie. now)
3) I hate it

Moving forward my cardio will consist of an unfuelled morning run on the days I can get up in time (it'll mean waking up at about 05:30 which I'm not thrilled about) and circuit style stuff three or four evenings a week.

I've also been a bit inspired by Boar's crazy circuits so I'm planning on gradually improving the equipment I've got at home (bigger shed, power-rack plus things like kettlebells, medicine balls, tyres, weighted bags etc). I may even make myself a JWB mask and wear it while I train. Boartastic.

Have been doing delts/chest/tris and back/legs/bis EOD but going to switch to a 3 day split for a while. I rarely stick to a routine for very long tbh, I have a very short attention span.

Mon - Chest/Tris
Wed - Back/Legs (very limited on legs as having real problems with my knees so will all be low weight/high volume for now)
Fri - Delts/Bis

Rough aims for diet are:

Weight days - 217, 195, 36, 1988 (Protein, Carbs, Fat, Cals)
Cardio days - 226, 118, 49, 1839 (Protein, Carbs, Fat, Cals)

Once the cut is finished I'll stick some pics up and my focus will shift to lean bulking and fitness.

Cheers CC

Cardio's gotta be done though I guess.

Wow, you actually knew who I was...I feel honoured
Yup sadly so...I will implement it for this last month before my holiday...waist is still 29.5" damn it
How do you prefer to implement your cardio? TBH I cba half the time so I just do SSCV after weights, worked just as well for me last time!

RE: Kaneda's new journal - 11 June 2008 20:24
Yeah, I saw a post in Boar's journal that made me realise

I prefer not to do cardio after weights so keep them on seperate days generally.

Tonight's session:

DB deadlift
DB rows
Seated rows (machine)
DB Shrugs
Leg extension
DB lunges
DB calf raises

Music - Vision of Disorder, Imprint - Clicky! Hardcore at it's absolute finest. So wish VOD were still around

Basically my gym is a bit pants, and is entirely machines and DBs (up to 40kg). To be honest it's OK at the moment as I'm not too worried about strength and my lifts are pretty poor anyway due to the fact I'm cutting, but once I start to increase calories with a view to lean bulking I'll need to sort something better (as in my first post I'll start training at home at some point). The main issue is lack of stuff for legs and decent deadlifts I suppose.

Yeah a copy of that disk would be spot on, I'll shoot you an email fella.

Slapped on the new Plump DJs album (Headthrash) and cracked on with cardio.

System Addict

X-Trainer 10 mins
Swiss ball twists 20
Lying twists 20
Treadmill 10 mins
Reverse crunches 20
Side bends 20
Stationary bike 15 mins

Finished there as I'd forgotten my inhaler and I needed a dump.
