Does anyone here know whether its legal or not for a GP's practice to be able to charge a tenner for a photocopy of my blood work results? Any way getting round it?

I have an appointment with my GP this friday morning to discuss the results, they wont even let me see it at reception. Really, really annoying it is I was debating on taking in my camera into the surgery and taking a snapshot of it

ORIGINAL: jango Personally I think this testicle tenderness is due to my recent return to AM cardio. I do it naked on a recumbent bike and my gonads tend to flop about.

That's odd. When i get blood work done they mail me the results or tell me over the phone and if i want a copy i just go in and pick it up.

Thats what they did when i was in the US, but havent had bloods done here in ages due to not being able to get jabbed through a issue that has since been fixed with lots of therapy. I still dont like getting stuck with an IV needle but i can handle it now at least

Your medical records do not belong to you; they are the Property of the Secretary of State for Health Your records are made and kept under the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998, which was implemented on 1 March 2000. Before that, medical records could be accessed under the Access to Medical Records Act 1990. This Act has now been repealed apart from those sections which enable you to access the medical records of someone who has died The Data Protection Act enables you to ask to see any records which have information about you on them. You can be charged a maximum of ten pounds for accessing your records. You can be charged a maximum of fifty pounds for a copy of your medical records (this includes x-rays).
